We currently have 5 dentists at Grays Dental Care supported by a team of hygienists and nurses. Detailed below is a detailed profile of each of our dentists.

 

Robin Gray BDS PhD MFGDP(UK)

Robin Gray profileRobin graduated from Edinburgh University in 1973 and since then has worked in University and Hospital Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental Medicine & Surgery Departments in both Edinburgh and Manchester.

 

Robin completed his Masters Degree (MDS) in 1983 and his PhD in 1993. He was awarded his Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners, MFGDP(UK) and in 1999 he was accepted on to the Specialist List for Oral Surgery by the General Dental Council. Until recently he was Senior Lecturer in Dental Medicine & Surgery at the University Dental Hospital Manchester, with clinical, teaching and research responsibility for the service managing patients with temporomandibular (jaw joint) disorders.

 

Robin has published over 80 papers in scientific journals and has lectured extensively particularly on temporomandibular disorders. He is also on the Specialist List of most major Health Insurance Companies. Robin also carries out a considerable amount of medico-legal work and receives approximately 30 new instructions per year acting for both defendant and plaintiff.

 

Jayne Gray BDS

Jayne Gray profileJayne graduated from Manchester University Dental School in 1975 and immediately started working as a full time general dental practitioner in an associate capacity in a busy multi-surgery practice in Eccles where she stayed for six years. After a break to start a family, she then returned to dentistry on a part time basis, first in a practice in Didsbury and then in Northenden thereby gaining valuable experience in several different practice environments. She also spent a period as a lecturer in the Department of Prosthodontics of Manchester Dental School.

 

Jayne has been a partner, with her husband Robin, at Grays Dental Care since 1984. She regularly attends post graduate courses and has a particular interest in removable prosthodontics (dentures).

 

Jayne is responsible for the clinical governance of the practice which is directed towards maintianing and improving standards.

 

Kevin Lea BDS

Kevin Lea profileKevin graduated from Manchester University Dental School in 1982. For the next 5 years he served in the Royal Navy as a Dental officer.

 

Kevin returned to civilian life in 1987 gaining valuable experience in general dental practice in both Lancashire and Cheshire. During this period he held a position at Manchester Dental School teaching clinical restorative dentistry to undergraduates.

 

In 1990 Kevin came to Altrincham and established himself in the general dental practice formerly owned by Mr Clarkson. He moved to Grays Dental Care in 1997 where he has established himself as a committed member of the team.

 

Joanna Bolger BDS

Joanna Bolger profileJoanna graduated from Manchester University Dental School in 1989.

 

After gaining valuable experience in a large North Manchester practice she joined a 2 surgery practice in Didsbury and remained there for seven years.

 

Joanna joined the Grays Dental Care team in 1993. After a brief interlude to start her family she now remains with the practice on a part time basis four days per week. She persues an active interest in post graduate education.

 

 

 

Simon Anderton BDS

GDC number: 75765

 

Simon Anderton profileSimon qualified from The University of Manchester Dental School in 1999. He joined the Royal Navy and was a Naval Dental Officer from qualification until 2002. He was responsible for the dental fitness of armed forces personnel and ran a single handed practice in a Royal Marine Commando unit as well as working in a multi-surgery practice.

 

Since 2002 he has been a Dental Surgeon working part-time in general dental practice and part-time as a clinical assistant in the Department of restorative Dentistry at Manchester Dental hospital where he has teaching, supervisory and examination duties. He joined Gray’s Dental Care in November 2006.

 

Simon has a particular interest in Endodontics (root canal work) and is pursuing further qualifications at Manchester University. He is a member of several professional societies.
