Grays Dental Care Hygienist Team

 

We currently have a team of 3 hygienists as part of our dental team. Detailed below is the profile of each of our hygienists.

 

Margaret Silke RDH
Practice Hygienist

 

Margaret Silke profileMargaret qualified in 1975 from Manchester University Dental Hospital School of Dental Hygiene. Initially she worked as a staff hygienist at the Manchester Dental Hospital and in private practice in Stretford. After starting a family she continued to work in private practice and combined this with working in South Manchester Area Health Authority where her duties included clinical work and the organisation and presentation of Dental Health lectures and projects within the local schools. Margaret joined Grays Dental Care in 1989 and has undertaken post qualification education including a certificate in Local Infiltration Analgesia and course on Temporary Restorations.

 

Margaret is an active member of the Bristish Dental Hygienists Association and regularly attends scientific meetings as part of a continuing education programme.

 

Fran Worswick RDH

Practice Hygienist

 

Fran Worswick profileFran trained at Liverpool Dental Hospital, qualifying in 1986, after which she worked in a mixed NHS/Private practice in Chester before returning to Manchester. For the next 5 years, her time was spent in a large NHS practice run across two sites, where she helped to establsih an Oral Health Unit, including a children's oral health club. After a short career break, Fran returned to general practice working for 7 years in Stretford, prior to joining Grays Dental Care in the summer of 1999.

 

Fran has undertaken post qualification education in Local Infiltration Analgesia, Theory and Practice of Dental Radiography and Placement of Temporary Restorations.

 

As a member of the British Dental Hygienists Assocation, she regularly attends post graduate meetings and training courses run by and in conjunction with other professional dental associations.

 

Jennifer Key RDH RDT

Practice Hygienist

 

Jennifer Key profileJennifer’s family moved from the UK to Canada where she was born and brought up. In 2003 she trained as a dental nurse and worked in general practice in London and St Thomas, Ontario for one year before moving to Manchester in 2004.

 

She worked in a specialist practice for 8 months before being accepted onto the Dental Hygiene and Therapy course at Salford University. In March 2007 Jennifer graduated from the Greater Manchester School for Professions Complementary to Dentistry as a Dental Hygienist & Therapist.

 

Currently she works at Grays Dental Care seeing private patients as a hygienist and she also works part-time in Shaw, Oldham in a mixed NHS/Private practice.

 

As a member of the British Society of Dental Hygienists and Therapists she regularly attends meetings to expand her knowledge and further her education and keep up to date with current scientific advances.
